IGNOU M.ED ONLINE ADMISSION 2022
About M.Ed Programme: Every Year, the open learning university offers admission to various distance education learning programme during the January session. Out of which one is M.Ed (Master of Education). The M.Ed discipline is offered under the School of Education (SOE). It has been jointly developed by NCTE (National Council of Teacher Education), IGNOU and DEC(Distance Education Council) and the minimum duration is of 2 Years. However, the maximum period allowed for completion is of 4 years. The M.Ed discipline is offered under open and distance learning (ODL) mode. The top distance university conducted the M.Ed Entrance Test for admission to this programme every year along with B.Ed discipline in the month of August.
Objective of M.Ed Programme : It is a professional programme and it is introduced to focuses on comprehensive and integrated professional development of teachers and other personnel engaged in educational management and administration. It consists 17 courses (dissertation being equal to 2 courses). The admission to M.Ed programme is done by going through an entrance test which is conducted at all India level. The main objective of M.Ed discipline is to include the role of teachers in changing global socio-economic concerns, organization of teacher education in the country, meeting the requirements of ‘education for all’, and ‘training for all’, and to prepare the teachers to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The M.Ed discipline is great opportunity for In-service graduate / postgraduate teachers with B.Ed. degree working in primary, secondary or senior secondary schools/ colleges/ equivalent academic positions in DIETs, SCERTs or similar educational institutions. Below are details of M.Ed Programme :
- Programme Name : M.Ed – Master of Education
- Medium of Instruction: This discipline is offered in English medium only. After some time, the programme might be available in Hindi. However, students can submit assignments and give term-end exam is in Hindi.
- Duration : The minimum duration to complete the M.Ed degree is 2 years and the maximum period is of 4 years.
- Age Bar: No Age Bar
- Fee Details : All candidate taking admission to this course need to pay the total fee of Rs 40,000/- for the entire programme during the admission process. As per M.Ed prospectus, the total fee is to be paid at the time of admission. Candidates who are looking for admission to the M.Ed programme are advised not to pay the fee along with the filled-in application form.
- Eligibility Criteria : To be eligible for M.Ed course, should have B.Ed with 55% marks. 2 year’s teaching/professional experience after completion of B.Ed programme in a Government/Government recognized School /NCTE recognized teacher education/research institution in education. The cut-off date for teaching/ professional experience will be the last date of submission of filled-in application form.
- Weightage of the Programme : The total number of credits is 60 credits including research dissertation.
- Exam Pattern : The M.Ed Entrance Paper is in objective format. The number of questions is 100 and maximum marks is 100. The duration of exam is 120 minutes.
Important Note : The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/ State Government, whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favor of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates.
IGNOU M.Ed Admission Procedure 2022: The admission process of M.Ed discipline is done by Regional Centre-Wise / State-wise on the basis of the score/grade obtained in the M.Ed entrance test which is conducted by IGNOU at all India basis. All candidate needs to submit the filled-in application form with attested copies of documents as specified in Entrance-cum-Admission Form. The change of programme centre outside the Region is not permissible at all. The number of seats of each PSC is limited to 35 only. The complete detail about the programme can be checked in the IGNOU M.Ed prospectus which can be obtained from the nearest IGNOU Regional Centre by paying a small fee of Rs. 1000/- at counter. The prospectus can also be obtained via post from the Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi- 110068 or the nearest regional centre by paying a fee Rs. 1050/- through a Demand Draft/IPO in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi/city of Regional Centre concerned. Candidates who wants to apply for M.Ed admission, can do by downloading the application form and prospectus from the official website of university.
IGNOU M.Ed Hall Ticket : The Hall tickets for M.Ed Entrance Test will be uploaded on official website for appearing in the M.Ed Entrance Test 10 days before the date of the Test. In case of non-receipt of Hall Tickets 3 days before the date of Entrance Test, can download it from the website to appear in the entrance examination.
IGNOU M.Ed Entrance Exam Result : The M.Ed Entrance Test will be held on the date mentioned in the advertisement. After conducting M.Ed Entrance test, the university takes almost 45 days to declare the IGNOU M.Ed entrance test result for the current year. Sometimes, takes more time to declare result. So, we advised all students to keep visiting the university website to check the M.Ed (Master of Education) Entrance Exam Result for current year.
IGNOU M.Ed Course and Syllabus Details : The theory courses and dissertation is offered in both year : 1st and 2nd year. Each theory courses have 6 credits while MESP-068 : Dissertation(Compulsory) have 12 credits. Students can download IGNOU M.Ed syllabus 2022 in Pdf format from its online portal.
