IGNOU MBA ONLINE ADMISSION 2021
About MBA Programme: The open learning university offers admission to various distance education learning programs during the January and July sessions. Out of which one is MBA (Master of Business Administration). The M.B.A discipline is offered under the School of Management Studies (SOMS). This discipline is a great opportunity for all learners who want to make their career in the field of management. The minimum duration of a master's degree is 2 years and 6 months in the field of management. However, the maximum period allowed for completion of the MBA program is of 8 years. IGNOU conducted the M.B.A Entrance Test (XLII and XLIII) for admission to this program every year in August for January 2021 and in February month for July 2021. The distance university will conduct IGNOU MBA Entrance Test (OPENMAT XLII and XLIII) on 24th September 2021.
IGNOU MBA PROSPECTUS 2021, DISTANCE MBA ADMISSION IN IGNOU
The MBA Application form is available online at the official website. The university invited applications from eligible and interested students to take admission in the M.B.A course by publishing an advertisement in local newspapers and MBA Prospectus for January 2021 on the online portal.
The Application Form, Student Handbook & Prospectus are available at all Regional Centres, Study Centres, IGNOU-ARMY, NAVY, ASSAM RIFLES Recognised Regional Centres, etc. The Electronic version of the MBA Prospectus is also available for download at www.ignou.ac.in. The last date to submit the filled-in application form for the IGNOU OPENMAT XLII entrance test must reach the Registrar, SED, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 by Registered or Speed Post on or before 11th August 2021.
The objective of the MBA Programme: This discipline is specially designed for those students who want to make a fruitful career in Management and Business Studies. Starting its operation in 1987, the School of Management Studies today offers a wide range of Programmes. The School follows a system of course-wise registration in its Management Programme. These are mentioned below :

- Program Name: MBA – Master of Business Administration
- Medium of Instruction: English
- Duration: The minimum duration to complete the MBA degree is 2.5 years and the maximum period allowed for completion is of 8 years.
- Age Bar: No Age Bar
- Fee Details: All candidates taking admission to this course need to pay the total fee of Rs 31,500/- for the entire program. It has 21 courses in all. The fee of each course is Rs 1500/-
- Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for MBA course, below are eligibility details :
a.) Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for general category / 45% for reserved category as per Government of India rules, with 3 years managerial/supervisory/professional experience OR Professional Degree with 50% marks in Engineering/ Medicine/ Chartered Accountancy (ICAI)/Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWA)/ Company Secretaryship (ICSI)/Law.
b.) Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU
IGNOU MBA Admission Procedure 2021: The admission to MBA Programme (MBA, DIM, PGDIM,, and PG Diplomas in HRM, FM, OM, MM,, and FMP) is done based on the score obtained in the OPENMAT XLII Entrance Exam which is conducted all over India 2 times in a year as per schedule.
To get admission to an MBA one needs to visit the nearest Regional Centre to obtain the latest MBA Prospectus 2021 by paying some amount of fee. The Student Handbook and Prospectus consist of all detail about the MBA and application forms which are required to fill out during the admission and course study. The application form can be obtained from the IGNOU website.
Candidates who want to take admission need to download the form from the website by paying a small fee of Rs. 1,050/- (Rupees one thousand fifty only) in the form of Demand Draft(DD) drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi.
Applicants who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into Management Programme which is conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT, and State level tests need not appear in the above said exam. A result card will be sent to all the candidates who have appeared in the OPENMAT examination. It will indicate whether the candidate has qualified or not qualified for admission based on the cut-off score as decided by the University.
Validity of IGNOU OPENMAT XLII Score Card: Candidates who have qualified for admission into MBA based on the scorecard which is obtained in the Entrance Test (OPENMAT XLII) will be eligible to take admission into Management Programme in any of the following 2 semesters such as who cleared OPENMAT Entrance August 2021 can take admission in 2 semesters i.e either in January 2021 or July 2021 semester. Similarly, those who cleared OPENMAT XLIII Entrance Feb 2021 can take admission in 2 semesters i.e either in July 2021 or January 2022 semester.
1.) For those qualifying August 2021 Test (OPENMAT-XLII): For 1st Sem. 2021 (January 2021) – 30th November 2021, For 2nd Sem. 2021 (July 2022) – 31st May 2022
2.) For those qualifying for February 2021 Entrance Test (OPENMAT-XLIII): For 2nd Sem. 2021 (July 2021) – 31st May 2021, For 1st Sem. 2022 (January 2022) – 30th November 2021

IGNOU MBA Entrance Exam Admit Card / Hall Ticket: The Hall tickets for the M.B.A Entrance Test will be uploaded on the IGNOU website to appear in the MBA Entrance Test( OPENMAT-XLII Entrance Test) 10 days before the date of the Test. In case of non-receipt of Hall Tickets 3 days before the date of Entrance Test, can download it from the website: www.ignou.ac.in to appear in the OPENMAT-XLII entrance examination.
IGNOU MBA Entrance Exam Result: The MBA Entrance Test will be held on the date mentioned in the advertisement. The Entrance Test will be held on the following dates :
1.) OPENMAT-XLII – 24.09.2021(Sunday, 10.00 a.m — 1.00 p.m)
2.) OPENMAT-XLIII – 04.02.2022 (Sunday, 10.00 a.m — 1.00 p.m)
After conducting the MBA Entrance test, the university takes almost 45 days to declare the IGNOU OPENMAT-XLII and XLIII entrance test results for the current year. Sometimes, takes more time to declare the result. So, we advised all students to keep visiting the university website to check the MBA (Master of Business Administration) Entrance Exam Result for the current year.
